A day of hands-on science experiments for girls in grades 7 to 9

Did you know that it takes a chemist to make cosmetics? And a chemist
is behind many crime scene investigations? If you think about your everyday
life, a chemist is behind almost every part!
Girls in grades seven through nine are
invited to take part in an interactive day of chemistry at the
University of Minnesota.
Who: Girls in grades 7 – 9.
What: Girls will
participate in two workshops, solve the crime scene, and watch the demo
extravaganza.
When: Saturday, October 22, 2005
9:00am – 1:00pm (Lunch will be provided.)

Department of Chemistry
Smith Hall (
Minneapolis Campus)
Girls can be dropped off at Smith Hall
on the East Bank of the Minneapolis campus
between 8:40 and 9:00. Driving south on
Cost: $5 per girl, or $8 for two
girls (cost includes liquid nitrogen ice
cream!)
