		STATUS OF NMR LAB INSTRUMENTS

	Guidelines for using the "new" VMX-400:

	--The instrument is equipped with a 4-nucleus probe for 
	  1H, 19F, 13C, and 31P detection.
	--The sample gauge is a clear plastic piece, not a brass cylinder.
	--There are no gradients.
	--VT control is significantly different than the other instruments;
	  additional training will be required.
	--Do not run HMQC or HMBC experiments.
	--The shims are particularly sensitive to sample height.
	--The charge rate will be intermediate between the 300 and 500,
          i.e., $10.50/hr.
	--There are no restrictions on the amount of time you can reserve.
